Brandon John Staley (born December 10, 1982) is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 and also served as an assistant coach for the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears.

Coaching career
Brandon began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois from 2006 to 2008 before working with defensive linemen and special teams at Division III St. Thomas (Minnesota) in 2009.
College
Staley went to the University of Dayton and started two years at quarterback for the Flyers and led the team to a 16–5 record from 2003 to 2004. He finished his playing career at Mercyhurst College in 2005, playing on the football team.

“Look, this man. Look at his resume, man. I mean, I’m sorry. He spent a year coordinating a team that my wife could coach with Aaron Donald and all those guys. Stop it. And trust me, she’ll do a much better job of protecting herself than this guy. He is the second highest paid and second worst paid in the National Football League. Like, this team is atrocious,’ Ryan continued.
The former New York Jets coach also took issue with how Staley handled the post-game press conference.
“I’m sorry, your job is to sit there and answer questions. That man or that woman has the right to ask whatever questions they want. You get paid to answer those things. Okay? Handle it. They’re questioning you because you’re brutal on defense. Give it to someone else. Let someone else coach, because it’s not getting done,'” Ryan said.
