The Oklahoma Transfer is a pick and pop threat with one of the better 3pt shooting bigs in the country. He has great strokes from 3 and a slick scoring package… although you want to see him a better shot from the FT line where he is about 70%.

He has NBA-level scoring ability, but he is not a big run/jump athlete and will likely struggle with the pace of an NBA game, especially on the defensive end. His ability to protect in space is not great and he is not a rim protector either.

Still, his 6pt shooting at 3-9 is a highly desired skill that could land him a spot in the league.

Concussion

North Carolina athletic trainers abandoned NCAA-mandated concussion protocol on forward Brady Maneck after taking a tough, but accidental, elbow from Kansas David McCormack during Monday night’s national championship game.

When McCormack attempted to shoot UNC big man Armando Bacot in the paint, Maneck briefly fell to the floor; The video shows McCormack’s left elbow falling into Manek’s face:

Manek stayed on the court for several moments and was eventually helped by his teammates. He appeared appalled by the blow, but was not immediately taken care of by the Tar Heels trainers. He was out of the game for a few minutes as officials reviewed whether to call McCormack for a major foul (it was considered a basketball game).

According to NCAA protocols dated from 2020, athletic trainers were required to follow the following procedures before Manek could return to play:

Consistency with signs/symptoms/behaviors with any student-athlete:

Assessment should be done by an athletic trainer or team physician (or physician designee) who has experience performing concussion.
Must be removed from practice/game for that calendar day if concussion is confirmed or suspected.
Can only return to play the same day if concussion is no longer suspected.

Sweet shooting stretch-four that hardly needs any space to knock out perimeter jumpers because of its size, quick release, confidence and inability to be amazed by close-outs and competitions… the pick for the modern game. Built as an end-pop shooter Incredible stability as a 38% shooter with high volume over five collegiate seasons… Solid rebounder that makes up for lack of athleticism with tremendous effort and energy on the glass… a Incredible stamina for the big man as he averages close to 35 minutes per game in his last 19 matches. He averages 17 points per game in this time period shooting 51% from the field and 42% from the perimeter… the spark plug rotational player who can shoot with his range, scoring and providing space for offenses… great The court is showing signs of sight and accuracy late in the season as teams apply more ball pressure and help defenders send their way… taking care of the ball effectively, during his four seasons in Oklahoma. Ranking first in the Big 12 in turnover percentage during two of the… while not a standout athlete, maintains solid fluidity and mobility.

Weaknesses: Recently labeled as a defensive liability by opposing coaches, which is a bit harsh, but not too far from the truth… taking opponents attacking in isolation and in pick-and-roll to the next level Will and his team will need to be able to live with it if they take a chance on their offensive skills… Shot selection leaves a lot to be desired, but their tendency to make these tough shots has them going. The average athlete lacks the great physical strength and speed that would be likely to struggle defensively because of it… only 70% of free-throw shooters, but he rarely lines up. Comes in, there is no effectiveness in reaching the basket and scoring with a dribble … one of the oldest players in the draft class who will turn 24 in early September.
