Bol Manute Bol ( born November 16, 1999) is a South Sudanese-American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. A son of basketball player Manute Bol (known for being one of the tallest NBA players in history), Bol was born in Khartoum, Sudan, but moved to Olathe, Kansas from an early age. In high school, Bol was considered one of the best players in the class of 2018, earning a unanimous five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American honors. A center listed at 7 feet 2 inches (2.18 m), he is one of the tallest players in the NBA.

Girlfriend
The outspoken girlfriend of Denver Nuggets big man Bol Bol, Mulan Hernandez, took to Instagram Live this week to accuse the NBA player of cheating on her while she mourns the death of her brother.
“So I feel like I’m tired of sitting here and acting like he’s a perfect guy when he’s done nothing but be caught cheating on me—this is the seventh, eighth time he’s caught me.” Betrayed,” Hernandez said in a video obtained by BSOTV.
Hernandez claimed that the fraud had been going on for almost a year.
“And it always happens at a time when I am always going through a lot. He feels the need to be so insensitive to my feelings,” she said.
Highlights
After attending training camp, Bol was a finalist to make up the United States roster for the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup. However, he was later dropped from the team by head coach John Calipari.[50]
In April 2018, Bol gained attention at the Nike Hoop Summit, playing for the United States junior national selection team. He recorded 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals in an 89–76 loss for Team World, which was made up of international players playing high school basketball in the United States.
Contract
According to Shams Charnia of The Athletic, the Denver Nuggets have signed Bol Bol to a new two-year contract worth $4.2 million.
Charaniya had a follow-up tweet discussing that the Nuggets are “excited” about Bol’s development for the upcoming season. With all the departures from the Nuggets roster in free agency, Bol could easily see rotation minutes at the start of this upcoming season.
It also means that Bol is now on a standard NBA deal instead of the two-way contract he played in last season. Denver have already signed Marquette standout Marcus Howard to fill one of their two-way spots. With Bol now on an NBA contract, the Nuggets now have another two-way deal at their disposal.
Bol really shone in the bubble last season, especially in the Nuggets scrimmage and the final eight regular season games. Not only did Bol make several highlight reel making plays, but he also showed ability as a defender and in particular as a shot blocker.
Trade
The Detroit Pistons have acquired the 7-foot-2 Bol Bol in business with the Denver Nuggets.
Detroit sent Rodney McGruder and the 2022 second-round pick to Denver for a ball through the Brooklyn Nets.
Bol, 22, has shown glimmers of promise with Denver, but a deep and talented Nuggets frontcourt has never gained traction. Detroit will give Bol an opportunity to receive more consistent minutes as it continues to gather young talent as part of its rebuilding. The Pistons have 44 games left to evaluate the bowling before restricted free agency this summer.
Bol was considered a top-10 draft prospect prior to the 2018–2019 season at the University of Oregon, but dropped to 44th overall on draft night in 2019 and averaged only 5.8 minutes in 14 games for Denver this season . Boll has shown glimpses of offensive prowess in his time with Denver, and will get a chance at increased minutes with Detroit.
Bol is the son of the late Manute Bol, a popular 7-foot-7 player who played for a decade in the NBA.
Draft
The Denver Nuggets on Monday finalized a deal with Detroit that will send big man Bol Bol to the Pistons.
In return, the Nuggets received guard Rodney McGruder with a 2022 second-round pick through Brooklyn.
7-foot-2 Bol is the son of the late Manute Bol, who played for 10 years in the NBA. Bol Bol was the 44th overall pick by Miami in the 2019 NBA Draft and was acquired by Denver in a draft-night trade. He played 53 games in three seasons with the Nuggets and averaged 2.7 points. He shot 47.8% from the ground.
McGruder saw action in 17 games for the Pistons this season. He averaged 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds. McGruder did not appear in the 2013 NBA draft after playing at Kansas State. He played overseas in Hungary in 2013–14 and played in the G League before signing with Miami.

Bol was born on 16 November 1999 in Khartoum, Sudan, as the second child of former National Basketball Association (NBA) star Manute Bol and his wife Ajok Kuag. He was named after his late great-grandfather and Dinka chief Bol Chol Bol. In 1998, after a US missile attack during the Second Sudanese Civil War, Manute was accused of being a US spy and the Sudanese government. They were prevented from escaping to the United States. In 2001, the family traveled to Cairo, Egypt, where they were stranded for several months due to visa problems, despite obtaining tickets to the United States from American friends.
The following year, when Bol was two, his family moved to Connecticut as designated political refugees. On his father’s encouragement, he began playing basketball at the age of four, although he was initially reluctant. Bol eventually began training at the gym with his father. At the age of seven, he moved to Olathe, Kansas, a city with a large South Sudanese population. As a 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) seventh grader, Bol featured in a highlights video at the Indianapolis Basketball Camp, which attracted the attention of CBS Sports and The Washington Post. His first NCAA Division I offer came from New Mexico State, when he was still in eighth grade.
