Taylender was doing a writeup on Hurley, who was selected along with Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Alan Houston, Jamal Mashburn, and Eric Montrose, the best college player at the time, to test the original Dream Team.

One of the immediate assessments of the Duke point guard was that he was not very big at 6′, 165 pounds. In fact, on YouTube you can see that Hurley has a kind of physical vulnerability about him until the game starts.

Once the balls started to bounce, Hurley had a walking bulletin board that said “This is not the size of a dog in a fight, but the size of a dog in a fight.”

Whatever he achieved he always worked on his game. Hurley Hill was not born as a basketball player in the mold of his peers like Weber or Jalen Rose. Athletic guys who can hold the alley on their waist and still finish.

Greater Western Sydney forward Bobby Hill will undergo surgery on Tuesday after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.

The 22-year-old scored a goal in his team’s loss to Brisbane on Saturday and has appeared in every game for the Giants so far this AFL season, but is now scheduled to be out of action indefinitely.

After he has recovered from surgery, a medical evaluation will determine whether further treatment is needed.

“We have our full support, as always, to Bobby and his family as they go through this period,” GWS football manager Jason McCartney said in a statement to the club. “His health and well-being is our absolute priority and he will receive the best medical care as he will have surgery on Tuesday and onwards.

“He will take time to recover before further medical evaluation to understand whether any additional steps are needed. Bobby is in good spirits and knows he has the support and love of the entire Giants family.”
