Well, look, I know Bill Belichick has the deepest connection with the Navy, because his father, Steve, was an assistant football coach at the Naval Academy for decades.
And I know full well that the Army and Navy will be going head-to-head this weekend for their annual game.
But it’s kind of amazing that Belichick was wearing a navy mask before running the ball 1,526,490 times [check notes: that was a total of 46 carries] and threw just three times in a 14-10 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Was this a clue that he must have been running like a Navy all the time? Hmm. Fans thought so.

On a night that was windy and cold and throwing was difficult, New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick opted to drop the balance and run the ball.
Still, as the Patriots beat the Bills 14-10 on Monday night to consolidate their hold on the AFC’s No. 1 seed and advance a game and a half to Buffalo in the AFC East standings, Bills coach Sean McDermott played down the impact Belichick. instead focused the blame on his team.
“It doesn’t have to give Bill Belichick more credit than it needs to be,” McDermott said after the game. “Whether it’s Bills or someone else – they beat us, right? You sit here and you tell me when we start from the average starting field position on the 40-yard line and he starts at the 23-yard line and I’m scoring goals in both cases, and we were one-on-four in the red zone, and they were one-for-one in the red zone? You give me ahead of time so I like my chances. Likes opportunities.
“So, with all due respect, this is not a Bill Belichick-type thing. What are you doing with the opportunities you got? What are you doing with the opportunities you got? We turned the ball plus 30-some yards Line given. It’s muddy football. It’s muddy football. So, I’m very comfortable in that position.”

The question was raised by NESN sportscaster Dale Arnold, who tweeted a screenshot of the longtime New England Patriots head coach wearing the ring on his left hand during a Presidents game against the Washington football team on Thursday night.
According to the Boston Globe, Arnold is the latest to wonder out loud whether Belichick, 69, has tied the knot with his longtime partner, Linda Holiday, whom he met in 2007.

Several people have tweeted several photos of Belichick wearing a ring since May, and Holiday was seen wearing a ring on her left hand in an Instagram post in July.
what does this mean? not much.
Holiday has worn a ring on that finger since early 2018, according to the Globe, and the ring Belichick is wearing isn’t necessarily a wedding ring. Responses to tweets showing Belichick’s Ring Point potentially show him wearing a smart ring from companies like Ora or Motive, which track fitness and sleep activity.
No definite answer will be found until someone confirms the mystery floating around about their relationship.
If they are married, then this will be Belichick’s second marriage. He was married from 1977 to 2006 to Debbie Clark, with whom he has three children: sons Brian and Stephen, who are both on the Patriots staff, and daughter Amanda.
