Ettore Ewen was born on March 1, 1986, in Tampa, Florida, the son of Jamaican and Montserratian immigrants Ettore and Margaret Ewen. He attended Wharton High School in Tampa, where he won several athletic honors, including a state championship in wrestling and being named Hillsborough County’s “Ironman of the Year”. Upon graduation, Ewen attended the University of Iowa, where he played American football as a defensive lineman for Iowa Hockey. He wore the shirt again in 2004 and missed the 2005 season due to a preseason camp injury.

Broke neck

The 36-year-old wrestler, whose real name is Ettore Evene, updated his fans on his injury from a hospital bed in Birmingham that night. Wearing a neck brace, the athlete curled his fingers for the camera and confirmed that he could move them.

 Therefore, on Saturday morning, Ewen confirmed that he had fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae. He said he was not displaced, there was no damage to the ligament and he would not require any surgery.

‘And a pro tip: If you’re going to break your neck, do it in Birmingham,’ he joked.

It is not clear how long it will take for him to recover.

The Tampa, Florida, native played football at the University of Iowa and even had a brief powerlifting career. He won the WWE Championship in September, becoming the face of the entertainment company for a few months until losing in January.

Big E broke his neck on Friday’s episode of SmackDown. Because he was pulled over after a terrible landing during the opening match of the show. The former WWE Champion landed on the crown of his head while taking a suplex outside the ring.

Big E and Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus and Ridge Holland begin Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown. During the match, Holland gave Big E a belly-to-belly suplex outside the ring. Big E didn’t turn his back completely and instead took the bump square over his head. So Big E is injured and faints after landing on the ground. So Commentator Michael Cole said medical personnel were caring for a New Day member.

He shared a video on social media confirming the serious injury while ensuring that he would be fine.

Big E broke his neck after an accident during a tag team match on Friday night’s SmackDown.

The former WWE Champion said in a video on Twitter that he had a complete movement of his extremities, but medical personnel told him he had broken his neck.

Big E teaming up with Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Holland attempted a belly-to-belly suplex on Big E outside the ring, but his time ran out, and Big E landed over his head.

Soon after the suplex, Sheamus won by pinning Kingston after being distracted by Butch (formerly known as Pete Dunne).

The official timetable for Big E’s recovery is yet to be established. It is unknown whether he was supposed to play a role at WrestleMania 38.

The match had to be called off when Ridge Holland hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Big E outside the ring, which saw E awkwardly land on the top of his head.

The entire 129kg load fell on his neck, as a result of which the superstar had to stretch and was thrown out of the arena almost immediately after the incident.
