Condo:
The NBA All-Star Ben Simmons is making moves off the court. He’s selling his fancy apartment at the Ritz-Carlton Residences for $3.1 million, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The Philadelphia 76ers guard has asked to be traded and seems determined to cut some of his Philly ties.
The three-time All Star picked up the combined-unit condo in 2018 for $2.54 million.
Fine per game:
Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons is reportedly already feeling the impact of his holdout. Simmons’ camp met with the players union after Simmons was fined roughly $360,000 for missing Monday’s game, and were told he could not get that money back, according to the Philly Voice.
Simmons, 25, is locked in a holdout with the 76ers after a rough offseason. He did not report to training camp, and faces fines from the team now that preseason games have started.
House:
Simmons has made some upgrades to his 10,000 square-foot home in Moorestown that sits on 1.78 acres. He finished the basement, put in a new kitchen, replaced the flooring, added a pool, and furnished the house.
More than his career as the band’s bassist, Simmons made the majority of his wealth through licensing deals. They included Kiss-related logos, icons and other intellectual properties that have been licensed by more than 5,000 different products, such as lunch boxes, comic books and pinball machines.
Pacers:
The Ben Simmons saga in Philadelphia continues to drag on as the world waits to see where the three-time All-Star will end up. The 2021-22 NBA season is set to get underway Oct. 19, and it has become abundantly clear that Simmons won’t be a Sixer for much longer.
The 25-year-old refused to report training camp, which will allow the organization to withhold 25 percent of his salary and fine him.
Sixers:
There is still some hope that the Sixers’ decision to freeze Simmons’ pay could force him to return to the team. However, there were active negotiations to send him to Portland Trail Blazers.
