Ben roethlisberger

Steelers quarterback and Ravens nemesis Ben Roethlisberger are getting married on July 23, a week before the Steelers are scheduled to report to training camp. He is married to Ashley Harlan, a Steelers fan whom he met at training camp in August 2005.

There was talk on the Internet that Roethlisberger had raised the question late in the 2010 season, but he brushed off questions from reporters. He recently gave an exclusive interview to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about his upcoming wedding.

Roethlisberger was the captain of his high school’s football team, basketball team, and baseball team. He did not play football as a quarterback until his final year in high school.

Roethlisberger played college football for the University of Miami at Oxford. In 2003, Roethlisberger led his team to an unbeaten record, ranking No. 10 in an Associated Press poll and a 49–28 victory over Louisville in the 2003 GMAC Bowl.

Roethlisberger was selected by the Steelers in the 2004 NFL Draft. He earned the National Football League’s “Rookie of the Year Award” in 2005.

On February 5, 2006, Roethlisberger became the youngest quarterback in NFL history to win the Super Bowl. He helped the Steelers win 21–10 over the Seattle Seahawks in the fortieth Super Bowl. At that time he was only 23 years old. He played in his first Pro Bowl in 2007. Roethlisberger led the Steelers to a second Super Bowl title in four seasons as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII, 27–23, after making a game-winning touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes. In the last 35 seconds.

Over the years, Roethlisberger has been hurt and battered. He missed most of the 2019 season with injuries. In 2018, he led the NFL with 5,129 passing yards and 34 touchdown passes to go with it, but Pittsburgh only finished 9-6-1.

He helped the team to 11 straight victories the previous season, but the team only finished 12–4 and were knocked out in the wild card round of the playoffs by AFC North rivals the Cleveland Browns.

Pittsburgh is 5-5-1 this season. Roethlisberger played in those 10 games and has 2,522 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. But the 39-year-old is still far from his prime, which is why reports of his potential retirement at the end of the 2021 season may not come as a surprise.
