Ashley Marie Harlan was born in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. She was raised in New Castle by her parents Jenny and David Harlan and is the only daughter of two brothers Brandon and Brent Harlan. Roethlisberger signed a five-year, $14 million contract with the Steelers ahead of the 2021 season, which paid him $1.075 million in salary and $2.585 million per year in a signing bonus of $12.925 million spread over five seasons.
