Picks:
Mo Donegal, who finished fifth in the Kentucky Derby and skipped the Preakness Stakes, is listed as the 5-2 favorite. He had three wins and two third-place finishes in his career prior to racing in a loaded field at Churchill Downs, with one of those wins coming at the Wood Memorial Stakes in April.

2022 lineup:
One surprise: Yu is bullish on Kentucky Oaks runner-up Nest, who is 8-1 in the early Belmont Stakes odds.
The only filly in the Belmont field, Nest entered the Oaks on a three-race winning streak. But in that race Secret Oath got the jump on Nest, who ran well just to hold onto second.
At 1½ miles, the Belmont is a test of stamina like few other races, and Yu believes Nest has the pedigree to run well.
Record:
The overall speed record for the Belmont Stakes is held by the one and only Secretariat (1973), who ran the race in an astonishing 2:24.00 flat, while also establishing the fraction records throughout his effort. Secretariat dusted his rivals on that fateful day by a staggering 31 lengths.
Only four horses challenged Secretariat in the Belmont, even though the previous seven horses to have won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness withered in the 1 1/2-mile race, unable to match Citation’s 1948 Triple Crown.
