The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is set to start at 1500 local time on Sunday.

The eighth round of the 2022 F1 season, the Azerbaijan GP at Baku City Circuit, gets underway at 3:00pm local time (12:00pm BST) on Sunday 12th June.

The second stint would then be done on the hard tyre, as the C3 compound is a consistent one that the teams know well, and it doesn’t appear like it will degrade too much over the final 30 laps of the race.

There’s no certainty over that final point, however, because nobody carried out their long runs during the same time of day as the race will be.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is set to start at 1500 local time on Sunday.

ESPN will carry live coverage of every F1 race, including this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, to subscribing US fans. Practice sessions will be available on ESPN2, with qualifying and the race broadcast on the main ESPN channel. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is at 7am ET on Sunday, 12th June 2022.

First practice and FP3 both took place at 1500 local time – when the race starts – and track temperature was up near 50C, but by the time of FP2 at 1800 (when the long runs and qualifying were carried out) the track temperature had dropped by some 15 degrees to 20 Celsius.
