Highlights
When it rains, it rains, with Ferrari and Charles Leclerc at the Monaco Grand Prix coupled with poor strategy, causing the Monegasque driver to lose more points. Leclerc will be hoping to get his championship challenge back on track at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Sergio Pérez has added himself into the mix for the Championship after his surprise win, and Mercedes will be looking to bounce back (though hopefully not literally) after experiencing more issues with his car. At the bottom of the pack, we’re interested in how Danny Ricciardo’s season progresses as rumors swirl in the F1 paddock that his McLaren seat could be in jeopardy if performance doesn’t improve.
The Baku Street Circuit is one of the fastest on the calendar, with long straights and lots of slipstream and overtake opportunities. There has been a lot of incident and drama in the Baku races recently, as the 2021 edition saw Max Verstappen crash spectacularly a few gaps from the end.
It is expected that this year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be one of the more exciting races. If you want to get in on the action this weekend, here’s how to watch the Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix on TV and online.
Qualifying 2022
“It’s a little disappointing to miss the third quarter by such a small margin, but I think we did a good job today. We’re struggling a little bit more with the car here on this track and we were close. I don’t think we’ll be able to do that in Q3.” Were miles away from coming in. I’ll put it down to a few minor mistakes by myself and probably not getting the ideal strategy for the tires in the last few laps, but I don’t think we have much hope today anyway. Also a good position, we are not too far from the mark. The task now is to try and move on tomorrow.”
