There is no universal strategy for winning in Major League Baseball, but the conventional wisdom in recent years has been that it helps to have as many young talents as possible.

So, we took it upon ourselves to see which 10 teams have the best youth cores right now.

And by “now” we mean now. We only considered players who have actually played in the Majors this season and who are still on the 26-man or 40-man roster or injured list.

We also set the age cutoff at 25, with a further condition that players be that age or younger for all or most of the 2021 season. As in, there is no 26th birthday before 30 June

Home Run

Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall snatched a home run during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday after he passed his teammate Austin Riley during a base run.

Duvall drilled a ball into left-center field that cleared the fence in the first innings, giving him his 38th long ball of the season.

There were two men on base before Duvall hit, which the Diamondbacks’ center fielder Jake McCarthy jumped to catch near the wall, but the ball bounced off his glove and into the stand.

Riley was at second base and thought the ball had been caught so he tried to return to first base where Duvall passed him.

A runner’s fielder’s choice was called out and Duvall was eliminated in second, while Riley and Freddie Freeman scored. Duvall was credited with a two-run single as Atlanta won 9–2 to maintain a three-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East.

“As a hitter or sprinter, you have to be aware of this,” manager Brian Snitker told MLB.com. “When you have a runner in front of you, you can’t [pass] him. Maybe, Austin came back and got a little off. It’s just part of baserunning and you should be aware of it. I don’t think it’s is a bad rule
