Confident with an opening day win at Crystal Palace, Arsenal will look to continue their good start in the Premier League 2022-23 season when they take on Leicester City in their second match at the Emirates on Saturday. Arsenal began their campaign with a 0–2 win at Selhurst Park. The Gunners held their nerve through an extended period of pressure before Gabriel Martinelli scored the opening goal and then Mark Guahi converted a Bukayo Saka cross into his net. Meanwhile, Leicester City lost a two-goal lead and Brentford held on to a 2–2 draw at home. For Arsenal, all eyes will be on the star signing Gabriel Jesus, who impressed against Palace but did not find the back of the net. Youri Tielemans will also be in focus, with the Leicester midfielder linked to a possible move to the Gunners.

Maybe Precision was no fluke after all. Arsenal continued their perfect start to the new season with a second straight win, a 4–2 win over Leicester City at a raucous Emirates Stadium, celebrating two goals and two assists by new forward hero Gabriel Jesus.
Leicester got off to a strong start and didn’t allow Arsenal to build momentum, but then Jesus took his team to task with a fine finish. He then followed up with a header from a corner kick to send his team into a 2-0 breakup.
Leicester City scored twice in the second half and seemingly made a game of it – a William Saliba own goal and a James Maddison shot under Arsenal’s ‘keeper’ – but the Gunners responded quickly each time because Granite Zacca and Gabriel Martinelli found the back of the net, both assisted by Jesus.
Leicester had a penalty kick just before halftime which was later scratched after video review as the referee decided Jamie Vardy had sought contact with Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

80th minute: Gabriel Jesus misses the easiest opportunity of the game when the ball passes through the far post where he was lurking. But he does side netting. Prior to the spot, Kieran Tierney played a loud applause on the left for Olkesander Zinchenko.
75th minute: Arsenal answer back! Gabriel Martinelli receives the ball from Gabriel Jesus at the top of the box and he fires a diagonal ball inside the right post. Arsenal is back on the cushion two goals.

Arsenal will be hoping for a repeat of last year where Mikel Arteta’s side managed to double on Fox. North London beat Brendan Rodgers’s team 2-0 in the same match last season.
Arteta have fielded the same line-up in the last two pre-season games and the first Premier League game of the season which gives an indication of how Arsenal might line up against Leicester. However, the introduction of Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu could have persuaded the Gunners boss to change the line-up.

After the home team’s opener here, cameras caught the smiling face of Edu, Arsenal’s technical director and transfer specialist. Gabriel Jesus had just curled up in the first competitive goal of his Arsenal career, and there were few inside Emirates Stadium as delighted as the man who spent £45m on the Brazilian this summer.
Edu, it’s safe to say, had every reason to feel happy. Signing the striker was a move he couldn’t go wrong with this off-season, with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both gone. Jesus was the man Arsenal wanted from the start, and this stellar performance against Leicester City provided plenty of evidence to suggest that he could be a truly transformative player for their new side.
When Edu and Mikel Arteta envision Jesus in this armory attack, this is what they might have expected to see. The striker left the pitch with two goals and two assists on his home debut, but that barely tells half the story of his afternoon.
