As per his words, Boston Red Sox and Aroldis Chapman reached an agreement on a 1-year, $10.75 million contract on Tuesday.
The first to drop the news was Chris Cotillo from MassLive who claimed that the Red Sox had ‘progressed in talks’ with Chapman and were working ‘towards’ him signing.
Chapman finished up the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He managed to accumulate a record of 5-5 with 14 saves and a 3.79 in ERA and 98 strikeouts in 61.2 innings across 68 games played.
Chapman, with 16 years of experience, has also played for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. In 2023 with Rangers and 2016 with Cubs he won the World Series.

In October 2022, Aroldis Chapman signed a one-year deal with the Boston Red Sox for $10,750,000 which was fully guaranteed. Chapman will earn a base salary of $10,750,000 in 2025 with total earnings of 10,750,000.
