Bolden was pulled in the second innings after allowing one run on two hits, while scoring two runs and getting one out.

Van Horn would go through three different pitchers during the first four innings. Conor Noland lasted only 0.2 innings and was replaced by Ryan Cousteau.

The Razorbacks used seven different pitchers during the game.

Playing in their first NCAA Tournament game, NJIT flicked the Razorbacks right out of the gate, receiving their first run on a lead-off home run over the left field fence from Albert Choi on the third pitch of the game.

Uncharacteristic errors from Noland and shortstop Jalen Battle contributed to the Highlanders scoring in each of the first three innings. In second a dribbler going under Battle’s glove brought home NJIT’s second run, and a foul throw to load first base.

H2H

Down 3-2 with two ons and two outs in the fourth, Van Horn brought in Kevin Kopps to replace Cousteau as his fourth pitcher of game day.

The SEC Pitcher of the Year closed the Highlanders (26-23), won and retired all seven batsmen he faced in the work of 2.1 innings. By the time Kopes left the game after the sixth inning, Arkansas had taken a 10–3 lead.

More importantly, Kopps only bowled 24 pitches, which should make him available for Saturday.
