Schedule 2022
The Cardinals’ season isn’t over yet, the playoffs are yet to come. But some pieces fall in the 2022 season, starting with the opponents now playing cards next season.
With the change to the 17th game, the Cardinals will have their ninth home game next year, with the AFC East’s Patriots scheduled to travel extra.
The NFL schedule will be released post-draft in mid-May.

Depth chart
With the Cardinals short of the playoffs in 2020, general manager Steve Keem believed the roster needed only a few tweaks and nudges to jump into the post season this year.
Prominent luminaries like A.J. Green, JJ. Watt and Rodney Hudson were brought in to help the Cardinals in the locker room and on the field. With a roster that hasn’t had a huge amount of business compared to the previous year, most of the team’s positions were not in question.
However, a handful of story lines dominated the Cardinals’ training camp, with spots like right guard, general cornerback depth and kick-return duty all under question. Only two preseason games were played for Arizona, leaving both the coaching staff and the media less to work with when putting those final pieces together.
Roster
Arizona Cardinals exclusive-rights free-agent wide receiver Antoine Wesley signed his one-year tender offer on Thursday and will return to the team in 2022. Wesley will play this season for $825,000. The 24-year-old had 19 receptions on 32 goals for 208 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games (four starts) in his first NFL season since dropping out of Texas Tech. Christian Kirk signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency, and veteran A.J. Greene remains a free agent, so Wesley may be more relied upon as receiver depth in Arizona in 2022. Wesley isn’t likely to be relevant on draft day in most leagues, but he could become an interesting discount-wire pickup if an injury leads to Hopkins or an injury.
