Aaqib Talib (born February 13, 1986) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at the University of Kansas, where he received All-American honors, and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Talib also played for the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams, winning Super Bowl 50 with Denver. In 2020, he made his debut as an analyst for the NFL on Fox.

The Boston Herald reports that the Patriots are continuing talks with impending free agent CB Aaqib Talib at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Howe believes that Talib is being treated as a “team priority” up to this point in the free agency process.
“Talib is due to hit the open market on March 11, but the Pats have exclusive signing power until then,” Howe said.
The Boston Globe’s Ben Wolin reports that the Patriots have yet to begin contract talks with impending free agent WR Julian Edelman.
“While he had initial contact with the agent of free agent cornerback Aaqib Talib in the Coalition, sources say he has not contacted impending free agents Julian Edelman and Ryan Wendell about contracts, or about possible extensions to Logan Mankins. Or have not contacted security Devin McCourty. Reduce his 2014 cap number,” Wolin says.

“Look at the void. He’s cool. Smooth baby. He’ll be a protection for someone one day.”
Defensive tackle legend Damon “Snacks” Harrison watches some 7-year-olds from Aaqib Talib’s youth football team, the Yellow Jackets United, go through a defensive back drill. Harrison has just finished his morning workout at Talib’s new training facility and is pausing to watch the youngsters on the indoor turf field.
And that’s what Talib built outside Dallas with A D1: the state-of-the-art facility where NFL players train. But ordinary people can also get personal training, and at the same time the youth football program can take advantage of everything it has to offer.
“It’s like a game,” Talib tells me as he gives me a Saturday morning tour of the facility. “I got the same bubble guts I get on game day.”
It’s an hour before the grand opening in Carrollton, Texas, and Talib is partly nervous and anxious at the same time. It’s been many years since it was built. Talib finds out that less than 48 hours ago he had been traded with Ram, but this is the furthest thing from his mind.

Shockingly, Talib has started off with a bang with his new team. I can’t believe a man who justified failing a drug test by saying it was okay because he had already informed his coaches that the test would be positive would be in trouble after a guarantee of millions of dollars.
Talib reportedly showed up repeatedly for team meetings, got into a loud match with a teammate at the rookie symposium, and missed the team’s flight to a Hall of Fame game. But Tampa coaches say these are issues that mostly occur in 12-year-olds.
“He might have some other issues, who is just 12, or how old he is,” said (Bucks defensive back coach) Raheem Morris.
