Anita Alvarez (born December 2, 1996) is a Mexican American artistic and synchronized swimmer. Originally from Buffalo, New York, she attended Kenmore West Senior High School, from which she graduated in 2014. After graduating she began her professional synchronized swimming career.

A professional US synchronized swimmer fainted midway through the World Championships and had to be rescued by her coach after she drowned at the bottom of the pool.

Anita Alvarez, 25, fainted while participating in the final of the women’s singles free competition in Budapest on Wednesday.

Her coach Andrea Fuentes rushed to her aid, diving into the water and pulling her back to the surface with the help of a man.

Alvarez regained consciousness shortly after getting out of the water and received emergency first aid.

Ms Fuentes said in a statement on Instagram that she was “fine and doctors also said she was fine”.

Swimmer

American Alvarez completed her singles free final at the World Aquatics Championships when she fainted and drowned at the bottom of the pool. His coach Andrea Fuentes quickly realized something was amiss and was fully clothed to drag Alvarez to the surface.

lvarez, competing in her third World Championship, was not breathing when Fuentes pulled her to the side of the pool with some help. The swimmer was taken from there to the pool’s medical center, and Team USA later issued a statement saying she was doing well. Fuentes said that despite the incident, lvarez is still expected to compete in Friday’s team event.

“It was a big scare,” Spanish newspaper Marca quoted Fuentes as saying. “I was scared because I saw she was not breathing, but now she is doing very well. There was only water in his lungs, once he started breathing again everything was fine.

 

Anita Alvarez born December 2, 1996, is a Mexican-American artistic and synchronized swimmer. Her hometown is Buffalo, New York, and she graduated from Kenmore West Senior High School in 2014.

Anita’s ethanicity is America( Mexican- American).

After graduating she began her professional synchronized swimming career. lvarez competed in women’s doubles and partnered with Maria Koroleva at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She competes for the United States National Synchronized Swimming Team. She participated in the 2015 World Championships in Kazan and the 2014 Junior World Championships.

Alvarez took training in intramural swimming in western New York. As a coach, he guided Walnut Creek
