Speculation about Breshaw’s future had intensified in recent weeks and the 26-year-old openly admitted he was taking his time to make what he considers the biggest off-field decision of his career.
“It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this is the most important decision I have to make and I’m not taking it lightly at all,” Breshaw told SYN radio on Tuesday morning.
“I have to do a ton of due diligence to feel comfortable about my decision. I clearly haven’t made it yet.
“I understand that time is running on the clock and people are guessing, but I am not making decisions for any of them.
“The decision will be what is best for me and I will make it when I am ready.”
Free agent
Amidst much speculation, Breshaw turned his back on free agency, and was signed to Red and Blue for six years.
Melbourne list manager Tim Lamb was stopped to secure the 26-year-old’s services.
