Hip surgery

Hip resurfacing surgery involves applying a metal cap to the ball in the hip after the ball has been smoothed out. Once this is done, a metal bar is inserted into the pelvic socket to install it.

Hip resurfacing surgery is considered a good option if a person does not want a complete hip replacement.

The main advantage is that the ball inserted into the hip is larger in size, providing good stability. Another major advantage is that the femur remains intact in the bone. This is especially good if more surgery is needed in the future.
