Andre De Grasse is a Canadian sprinter. A five-time Olympic medallist, De Grasse is the reigning Olympic champion in the 200 m and also won the silver in the 200 m in Rio in 2016.

TORONTO — Andre De Grasse has finally added a gold medal to his collection—and the entire Greater Toronto Area is celebrating, with his hometown even declaring the athlete would get a day named in his honour.
The 26-year-old from Markham, Ont. sprinted to the top of the podium during the 200-metre dash at the Tokyo Olympics Wednesday morning, with a Canadian-record time of 19.62 seconds.

But after coming off the track and relishing in the moment, there was no surprise who De Grasse wanted to see: partner Nia Ali and the rest of his family. The pair have a child together, and are currently expecting another.

He and his wife, American hurdler Nia Ali, have a daughter, Yuri, born June 2018 and a second child in May 2021. De Grasse is Catholic, having been influenced by the faith of his parents.
