Australian captain Alyssa Healy has undergone surgery on her hand after a “domestic accident” at her home on Saturday evening, the Sydney Sixers announced in a statement.

The wicketkeeper has been omitted from the Sixers’ squad for Sunday evening’s WBBL clash against cross-town rivals Sydney Thunder at North Sydney Oval.

The Sixers confirmed, “No further details regarding the accident or injuries are clear at this time, further details will be reported at the appropriate time.”

Husband

Alyssa Healy’s husband is Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Alyssa and Michelle Stark knew each other since they were nine years old. They grew up playing cricket together. The couple got engaged in 2015 and tied the knot in April 2016. Alyssa and Mitchell are the third married pair after Ruth Westbrook to play Test cricket around the world.
