Week 4
The New Orleans Saints announced Week 4 Inactives and Alvin Kamara is officially Inactive for their matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Kamara was listed as a suspect this week with a rib injury. He was limited in practice throughout the week and tested an injury during the warmup and is unable to hit the ground today.
Kamara is not in for the season he was hoping for. He has made 24 carries for 100 yards through two matches this season. Kamara has been hit 11 times and has five receptions for 19 extra yards. He’s usually a running back who dominates the ground and in the receiving game, but it’s not completely out yet. Backup quarterback Andy Dalton will be the starter on Sunday as Jameis Winston has been ruled out of the game.
Will play week 4

fantasy effect
Kamara was able to play last week and received 17 touches, but he was listed as suspect before week 4 and was limited in practice throughout the week. With Kamara out, Mark Ingram is expected to receive most of the work in the New Orleans backfield, while Dwayne Washington and Latvius Murray (who was picked up from the practice squad on Saturday) could all see increased roles. RB Tony Jones Jr. is also inactive.
Week 5
With Kamara inactive, look for Mark Ingram to lead the Vikings vs. Saints running back corps, with Dwayne Washington and Latvius Murray on hand to serve in complementary roles. Kamara’s next chance to follow suit will come in Week 5, when New Orleans face the Seahawks.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Kamara is entering his sixth NFL season in search of his sixth consecutive top-10 fantasy campaign. The good news is that he is positioned as New Orleans’ lead back and will continue to be a featured goal in pass games (he has never finished less than fifth among RBs in goals). However, there are concerns. Kamara’s efficiency took a big hit around last season without Drew Brees (career-low 3.74 YPC and 66% catch rate) and is unlikely to last 17 games (he’s been in at least each of the last four seasons). missed a game). Kamara is also in danger of a multi-game suspension for an off-season arrest. The 27-year-old is a strong bet for RB1 production when active, but will be a risky early-stage investment until his off-field situation is resolved.
