UFC 273 is in the books. A wild night of action from Jacksonville, Florida wrapped up with Alexander Volkanowski reminiscing why he’s the top featherweight in the world. The champion removed Chan Sung Jung in the main event to retain his title after referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the bout.
Fight card
The latest PPV offering from the UFC is as loaded as possible. UFC 273 features a pair of title fights and a fight between a rising star and a former title challenger. It all goes down Saturday night from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
The main event saw featherweight king Alexander Volkanowski defend his crown against Chan Sung Jung. This will be Volkanowski’s third title defense since winning over Max Holloway in 2020. This will be his second battle at the 145-pound title after a failed attempt in 2013.
Also, bantamweight champion Aljamen Sterling and interim titleholder Petr Yan withdrew their fight from 2021 with a 135-pounder. And the much-anticipated return of Khamzat Chimayev is here when he takes on former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns. The PPV main card fills in with a women’s strawweight contest between Mackenzie Dern and Takea Torres, as well as a light fight between Vink Pichel and Mark Madsen.
