The Alabama Crimson Tide football program represents the University of Alabama (variously Alabama, UA or Bama) in the game of American football. The team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeast Conference (SEC). The team’s head coach is Nick Saban, who has led the Tide to six national championships during his tenure. The Crimson Tide is one of the most storied and decorated football programs in NCAA history. Alabama star quarterback Bryce Young (shoulder) is “expected to start” Saturday afternoon in a significant showing at No. 3 Crimson Tide with No. 6 Tennessee, ESPN’s Pete Thamel said on GameDay Saturday morning. Thamel revealed that if all goes well in the pregame warmup, the current Heisman Trophy winner will play for the Crimson Tide.

“We’ll find out in the pregame,” Saban told Dennis Dodd at CBS Sports HQ about Young’s situation. “He’s been able to do some exercises this week.
