Injury
Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson declared he was “fine” after suffering a leg injury during a meeting with Washington on Sunday. There was definitely a day off in the 2022 No. 2 overall selection, with a total of six tackles (five singles). The 22-year-old also recorded three sacks, a team record for a rookie. After Hutchinson logged only one tackle in Week 1, things definitely changed in this one. The manager of the IDP dynasty, who has hidden him, may consider calling him, especially since he appears to be ready to contribute.
Sacks
Aidan Hutchinson blasted his patent Michael Jackson leg kick as “Billie Jean” across Ford Field on Sunday after recording his second sack of the first half against Washington. 2 overall pick inspired football, helping Detroit to a 36–27 victory by collecting a Lions single-game rookie record three sacks to end the game.
Nfl draft
Hutchinson has been the most impressive pass-rusher in college football during the 2021 season and easily outperformed the anticipated top pick, Kyvan Thibodaux.
Hutchinson is a hard worker, powerful, super-fast with a natural pass-rushing instinct, and has spun off the scale throughout 2021. He only has one obvious downside and that is how well his ankle will last in the long run. Don’t be surprised to see him selected in the top three in the 2022 NFL Draft if he tests medically.
PFF
PFF is teaming up with Aidan Hutchinson and RadeGen Sports on a podcast series to be released in April 2022.
“I’ve always wanted to incorporate podcasting or broadcasting into my career,” Hutchinson said. “I’m excited to start immediately with the team at PFF.”
The series will include interviews with the Hutchinson family, childhood mentors, college coaches, members of the media and more. This will take an in-depth look at Aidan’s early years in Michigan, his incredible 2021 season, and how he’s preparing for the 2022 NFL Draft.
