Adam Parrish Wainwright, nicknamed “Waino” and “Uncle Charlie”, is an American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball. The Atlanta Braves selected him 29th overall in the first round of the 2000 amateur draft from Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia.

Adam and his wife, Jenny, have daughters Baylie, Morgan, Macy and Sadee Faith, but three years ago felt called to adopt. Two years ago, they received official word that a baby boy they’d been taking care of was theirs. They had been approved to be the child’s adoptive parents, and named him Caleb Adam Wainwright.
