ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter is one of the most prolific league insiders working in sports media today. But a professional dancer, she is not. And with her big reveal on Wednesday, it appears her amateur dancing days will be put on hold for the time being.
Schaffter revealed that he suffered a torn meniscus in his knee, an injury he suspected when he attempted to dance “Gridy” at Soldier Field two weeks ago. The news was officially broken by Schefter’s ESPN affiliate, Marcus Spears.

“I must have damaged my knee doing ‘griddy’,” Schaffter said on “NFL Live.”
In mid-December, Shafter danced with his “NFL Countdown” colleagues on the infamously precarious Soldier Field turf in Chicago.
To turn the tables, NFL stars must scour heaven and earth to try to sabotage the results of Shafter’s MRI exam before he is able to announce the news himself.

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to Books, fans and my teammates. Books helped me return to productive football when I had difficulties that could end my career. We worked together to solve those difficulties, and I always appreciate that. Being part of a Super Bowl champion team and then being a competitor is like a dream come true.
“I make mistakes. I’m working on myself and there are positive influences around me. But one thing I don’t do is shy away from working hard on the field. No one can blame me that I’ve done everything I can.” The play didn’t give it.
“Because of my commitment to the game, I was ready to take the pressure off my coach straight away with the injury. Despite the pain, I was adaptable, the staff gave me a powerful and sometimes dangerous painkiller that the NFLPA warned against using, and I gave it my all for the team. I played until it became clear that I could no longer use my ankle to perform my sporting responsibilities safely. On top of that, the pain was extreme. I sat on the sidelines and my coach, very upset, came up to me and shouted, ‘What has happened to you? What happened to you?’ I told him, ‘This is my ankle.’ But he knew. It was well documented and we discussed it. Then he ordered me to get down on the field. I said, ‘Coach, I can’t.’ He didn’t call for medical attention. Instead, he yelled at me, ‘You’re done!’ While he rolled his finger around his neck. The coach was telling me that if I didn’t get hurt, I was done with the Books.

Gallup, who received his MRI results on Monday, suffered an injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals and left ATT Stadium on crutches. His left knee appeared to be bent as he turned to catch a 21-yard touchdown pass from Duck Prescott.
Gallup, who would go on to be an unrestricted free agent after the season, took 35 catches for 445 yards and 2 touchdowns as the number 3 receiver opposite Amari Cooper and CD Lamb. He missed seven games in the first match of the season after suffering a calf injury.
Cedric Wilson replaced Gallup after Sunday’s injury and caught six passes for 35 yards and a touchdown, and he also threw a 31-yard pass to Tony Pollard.
