Adam Robert Johnson (June 22, 1994 – October 28, 2023) was an American professional ice hockey forward. He played 13 games in the National Hockey League with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2018–19 and 2019–20 seasons. He also played in Europe with the Malmö Redhawks, Augsburger Panther and Nottingham Panthers. Johnson died in October 2023 after suffering a laceration to his neck from a skate following an on-ice collision.
Funeral

“I said to myself, ‘This is not going to go well,'” lamented Johnson’s friend and former coach Grant Clapton, who fought back tears as he spoke. “There will be a small hole, forever, that will never heal. After lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, for the sixth night, I have decided to fill that hole back with Adam.”
“I suggest you all do the same,” Clapton said. “Fill it with the huge smiles, laughs and jokes you shared with Adam, and he will live on in your heart forever.”
Scott Sandelin, Johnson’s hockey coach in Duluth, also took the stage to share some memories.

Death video
Police on Tuesday arrested a man on suspicion of murder over the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson, whose neck was slashed during a match in England.
Johnson, 29, was seriously injured during a Challenge Cup game between the Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers on 28 October and later died in hospital.
A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death of the American as neck injury.
South Yorkshire Police said the man arrested had been taken into custody, without giving further details.
