Rodgers entered Sunday’s game with a thumb injury that restricted him from practice for a few days. He took the practice area with the thumb taped, but eventually took pictures from down the center at Week 6.

It was an unlucky play for the Packers offense: while Rodgers finished the contest 26-for-41 for 246 yards, it was clear that a thumb injury was probably at play in his performance. The Jets also got some help from Mother Nature.

Green Bay Packers fans expect greatness, but they didn’t get it from Aaron Rodgers in the first half against the New York Jets.

These aren’t your typical New York Jets, mind you, but Green Bay football fans are used to a different performance at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Rodgers looked as though he had injured his wrist and/or hand in the first half, but fought through the pain. His toughness is appreciated, but only when it brings with it points. During the football half, Rodgers failed to register much momentum on that side of the ball.

As fans do, he overreacted a bit. Packers fans want to see what Jordan Love can do with this offense. Yes, I’m serious.

Retirement plans

There are several implications if Rodgers decides to hang on to it after this season. There is a financial side to this but mostly, we will finally get to see the beginning of the Jordan Love era. There are subtle signs pointing to this to be true. Rodgers is too adamant to include some people. He has been vocal about the free agents he wants to bring in. Basically, he knows the end is near and wants the best team possible to take another try and win.
Can he change his mind?
Of course he could change his mind. Rodgers is not a predictable person. It all depends on how this season goes and how disappointing it is for him. If the enjoyment of the game starts to go away, I think he’ll get the hang of it and move on to his next venture. If the team moves on and he finds himself falling in love with the next generation of receivers, he may end up staying. Aaron Rodgers’ retirement plans are probably being revealed which puts the season in a new light.

After a rough week, this was not the news Packers fans wanted to hear. However, this season is not over yet. Rodgers’ retirement after the end of the season is a matter of concern. For now, we want to set ship right for this season and hope the Packers and Aaron Rodgers can make another deep playoff run.
