Robs home run
The Royals are definitely getting tired of facing Aaron Judge.
Less than 24 hours after smacking the walk-off home run, the judge wasted little time on Friday and inflicted more pain on Kansas City. After MJ Melendez led the game with a high drive into the right field from Gerrit Cole, the judge used every bit of his 6-foot-7 frame to scale the wall and make a catch, allowing Melendez to hit a Home run robbed.
Judge, who has played a fine center field this season, was making his first start in right field on July 10. Recently acquired Andrew Benintendi started in left field with an Aaron Hicks Manning center, moving the judge to a position where he is, apparently, equally comfortable.
The judge was not nearly done with gallantry. He scored two home runs, including a Grand Slam, in the eighth inning, helping the Yankees return 11–5 over the Royals.
He became the first Yankee since Roger Maris in 1961 to reach the 40-homer mark before August, and as the only player in franchise history with 41 homers through the first 101 games in Babe Ruth (1928, 1921) joined.

The New York Yankees have been the best team in all of Major League Baseball this season and that’s thanks in large part to star outfielder Aaron Judge and the aggressive way he’s done. However, on Friday, he showed that his defense with a catch-of-the-year candidate against the Kansas City Royals should be equally praised.
The judge showed off his size and sheer athleticism in right field on the first bat of the game, robbing Royals catcher MJ Melendez with a certain home run on the wall.

We’ve become accustomed to seeing incredible feats as Aaron Judge continues to build a season to remember, so when the Yankees slugger pelted stones at an advertising board behind the visiting bullpen for a walk-off homer at Yankee Stadium on Thursday evening. Surprised it barely registered.
Then again, maybe this is only true for those of us who have been lucky enough to see the judge at night. Andrew Benintendi’s exposure to MVP candidate has come primarily in the form of television highlights, and while the judge’s outburst sealed a 1-0 win over the Royals, the latest Yankee knew he must have seen something special.
“Looking at it from the other side, it’s incredible what he’s doing,” Benintendi said. “Then to be a part of it tonight, it’s almost like it was crafted exactly the way he wants it.”
Judge’s Major League-leading 39th home run saved the Yankees after one hit in eight innings, thanks largely to Brady Singer’s dominant 10-strikeout performance in the first seven frames.
