Aaron Judge bets on himself, and it appears he is ready to capitalize on – if he can, stay healthy.

Judge, 30, the Yankees’ right fielder, had a major league-leading 17 home runs after losing twice to Baltimore on Monday. That was five more than any other player this season as of Monday, but things get really impressive when you compare his season to great seasons in the past.

She had more home runs than Babe Ruth during 40 games in 1927 (13). He had more than 40 of Roger Maris in 1961 (11). He surpassed Sammy Sosa’s 40-game totals in 1998 (7), 1999 (13) and 2001 (14). He had the same numbers as Mark McGwire in 1998, and higher than Macquarie’s (12) in 1999. He was only five less than Barry Bonds in 2001.

Those years should sound familiar: They are the eight seasons in which a player has scored 60 or more home runs.

“It’s really special,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on Monday. “I take it lightly sometimes, but not now. He is a really special player and is obviously really leading us on the offensive.”

Holding a water bottle

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has gone viral after showing an insignificant bottle of water in the hands of the big hit slugger.

The hilarious moment came after the Yankees lost 6-4 to the Baltimore Orioles, a surprising result seeing as Judge slammed two home runs.

The performance brought Judge’s season tally to 17 home runs, a lead of five over Houston’s Yordan Alvarez at the next best, and LA’s Mike Trout on 12.

Early in the first innings, the judge hit his first home run before celebrating with a drink of water in the dugout.

Now 30-year-old Judge is a massive unit of 201cm (6’7) and 128kg, but the image made her look like a real giant as her hand swallowed the tiny bottle.

This drew comparisons to the legendary wrestler Andre the Giant, the 224cm, 236kg wrestling legend who made a full-size beer can look positively tiny in his huge hands.
