A little fan wearing an Aaron Judge jersey received the home run ball from a Blue Jays supporter on Tuesday, and the incident quickly went viral.
That fan’s life is obviously improving.
Derek Rodriguez, 9, had the opportunity to meet his favourite player before Wednesday’s Yankees-Blue Jays game.
The fan who initially caught the ball, Mike Lanzillotta, was also invited to the meeting with the players.
Judge remarked that it was a touching moment for which he was appreciative.
According to Newsday’s Erik Boland and Judge, “It was a special moment.”
“A Blue Jays fan sharing that moment with a young Yankee fan is an experience that has now been shared all across the world.
It’s a testament to the number of Blue Jays supporters they have here.

Game 139 for the team: 9/4 — 2-for-2, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, and 2 BB
Very nearly a classic Bonds game.
Two walks, a single, and his 59th home run of the year:
This strikeout came in the seventh inning against Miguel Batista and gave the Giants a 5-2 victory.
Bonds didn’t exactly put the same amount of effort into this home run as he did in some of his other moonshots, but it still counts in the records.
