Aaron Charles Donald[1] (born May 23, 1991) is an American football defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Pittsburgh, where he received unanimous All-American honors, and was selected by the Rams in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Regarded as one of the greatest defensive players of all time,  he has received a record three defensive player awards, Pro Bowl selections, and seven first-team matches in all his eight seasons. -Pro honours. Donald won Super Bowl LVI with the Rams in 2022.

It’s relatively safe to say that none of the draft prospects made more of a splash in the 2022 scouting combination as Georgia defended Jordan Davis. At 6-foot-6 and 341 pounds, Davis somehow ran an unofficial 4.82 40-yard dash, which was officially corrected 4.78 times.

Davis also had a 1.68-second 10-yard split, which might be even more ridiculous for a man his size. How rare is all this? It is quite rare.

Georgia DT Jordan Davis’ 4.78 40-yard dash is the fastest by any player over 310 pounds since at least 2006.

Position

During Donald’s first two seasons in the league, the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt both times. Watt posted 38 sacks, 101 QB hits and 58 tackles in 32 games lost as a defensive end. Donald has never been as productive as he was in his early stages at Houston, but he has played in a tough division, from an interior pass rushing position, and has been unparalleled in reliability and consistency.

Over the past seven seasons, Donald has won three Defensive Player of the Year awards, finished in the top-five of the voting in all seven years, was named first-team All-Pro in all seven years, and placed first in the sacks, QB. Hits, and deals damage.

Donald has five more sacks than second-place Chandler Jones, and 26 more tackles for the loss, 57 more QB hits than second-place Cam Jordan.

Aaron Donald has hinted at a possible retirement just ahead of the Super Bowl, saying that if the Rams win, it could be his last season in the league.

Well, Ram won, and now the 30-year-old has come under the scanner about retirement.

Donald still hasn’t made up his mind.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Donald finally offered some explanation for why he’s considering retirement in the first place: his kids.

“I’m thinking about my kids, first, always,” Donald told Greg Bishop. “People who know me understand why.”

Donald has three children, Jaida, Aaron Jr., and Arik. Jada is eight years old and the eldest, and she lives in Pittsburgh with Aaron Jr. Eric, born in September, in Southern California with Donald and his wife, Erica.

Due to the distance between himself and his eldest two children, Donald struggles mentally when he cannot be with them. Even after losing Super Bowl LIII, Donald said later that his worries were much more than the time he lost with his kids.

When Aaron Donald signed a six-year contract extension worth up to $135 million with the Los Angeles Rams to become the highest-paid defensive player in history back in 2018, he immediately sent his father, Archie, a text.

“You created a monster,” read the message. Self-assessment wasn’t wrong three years ago, and it’s still on the money today.

Since he was selected by the Rams in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Donald is making a revelation. He has been nominated to the Pro Bowl in each year of his career and won the Distinguished Defensive Player of the Year award on three occasions.
