Tank Dell: What happened to| Injury Knee| Update

Tank Dell endured a significant knee injury during a touchdown catch in the Texans’ Week 16 matchup against the Chiefs. The injury occurred in the deep end zone when his legs were inadvertently undercut by teammate Jared Wayne. Dell collapsed to the ground, prompting teammates to urgently call for trainers. His left leg was immobilized in a brace before he was carted off the field, leaving his fellow players visibly distressed.

Dell was transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he is being treated for what head coach DeMeco Ryans described as a “significant” injury. He is expected to remain hospitalized in Kansas City overnight for further evaluation, ruling him out of Saturday’s game as Houston looks to rally against the Chiefs.

Injury Knee

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell sustained a serious knee injury during Saturday’s 27-19 loss to the Chiefs, head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed. Dell will remain in a Kansas City hospital overnight for further evaluation.

“Tank suffered a significant knee injury, and he’ll stay here overnight for additional tests,” Ryans stated. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him as we await more updates tomorrow.”

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Dell’s injury has been identified as a dislocated kneecap. While surgery is a possibility, no procedure has been performed yet as doctors continue assessing the damage.

The injury occurred during a standout moment for Dell—a 30-yard touchdown catch from C.J. Stroud early in the third quarter. As Dell secured the pass in the back of the end zone, teammate Jared Wayne inadvertently undercut his legs during a dive, leaving Dell in visible pain on the field.

Update

During Saturday’s 27-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell made a remarkable catch in the end zone. However, the play took a devastating turn when teammate Jared Wayne, also diving for the ball, inadvertently collided with Dell’s left leg. The impact was severe, and it was immediately evident that Dell had suffered a significant injury.

The scene on the field was emotional as Dell’s teammates gathered around him. Both Wayne and quarterback C.J. Stroud were visibly shaken, with tears in their eyes as the medical cart arrived. Stroud, clearly distraught, had to be comforted by several teammates while Dell was being attended to.
