Myles Garrett: Eye| What happened| Stats

During the second quarter of last Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett suffered an injury to his left eye.

The injury seemingly happened when Patrick Mahomes threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Noah Gray, who was on the end of a 14 play 87 yard drive. Garrett was trying to get past Joe Thuney who was playing left tackle due to D.J. Humphries’ injury last week. It seems that Thuney brushed Garrett’s face which potentially struck his eye.

Garrett appears to have headbutted the ground in a fit of rage and ripped his helmet off while Mahomes was waving at the support staff on the sideline.

The moment he stood up, he headed to the locker room for further assessment. While tackling Garrett, Thuney approached him, supposedly to shake hands.

At the end of the second quarter The Chiefs are leading the game 14-0 against the Browns.

What happened

Garrett got an eye injury very late in the second quarter. Garrett took off his helmet and lay on the field as trainers attended to Garrett. He got up and walked towards the locker room escorted by the trainers after he was injured.
