Helena Suková (Born February 23rd, 1965], a Czech professional tennis player who is now retired. Some notable achievements include winning approximately fourteen major titles which were entirely in doubles events- nine in Women’s and five in mixed events. Apart, she is also a two time Olympic silver medalist in doubles, four different Grand Slam titles runner-up in singles events, earned ten singles titles along with thirty-seven doubles titles through an overall successful career.

In 1981 Suková went pro and within a very short period of time started moving up the rankings. Barely reaching 16, she was already in the Top 100 single rankings. Over the years, she managed to obtain some impressive results, ending her career with No, 4 ranking in singles and No. 1 in doubles.
In Suková’s career, one of the greatest achievements was winning Australian Open in 1984 where at the age of only 19 she outplayed the restrictive Martina Navratilova in the semifinals, which ended Navratilova’s astounding 74 match winning streak.
Suková’s exceptional achievements didn’t just remain in singles. In women’s doubles, she reached a career Grand Slam status with titles at all four majors. Further, she won five mixed doubles Grand Slam titles too, three of which were with her brother Cyril Suk III. She played an important role also in team competitions for Czechoslovakia providing her country with four Fed Cup wins in addition to winning the first edition of the Hopman Cup in 1989. Because of her sustained success and her significant accomplishments, Suková was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2018.
