William Trevor Lawrence (born October 6, 1999) is an American football quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). Considered one of the most highly touted college football prospects, he won the 2019 National Championship Game as a freshman at Clemson and set the school record for quarterback wins. Selected first overall by the Jaguars in the 2021 NFL Draft, Lawrence had a breakout season in 2022 as he led the Jaguars to their first division title and playoff victory since 2017.
Ankle injury
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was ruled out of his team’s “Monday Night Football” game after twisting his right ankle in the fourth quarter versus the Bengals.
The incident occurred when Jacksonville faced a third down near Cincinnati’s red zone. The former Clemson quarterback stepped on his right ankle while being tackled by Walker Little and as he went to the ground, his foot twisted further. He remained on the EverBank Stadium field for several moments before attempting to get up.
Lawrence threw his helmet in frustration before trainers could take care of him. Cameras later showed him being helped off the field and into the tunnel. Jaguars backup QB C.J. Beathard came into the game to replace the injured Lawrence.
