With 14 seconds left in the second quarter, Kenny Pickett left the game due to an apparent injury.
On second down, a pass from Pickett was tipped and hit by a Jaguars defender.
He left the game and went to the locker room holding his chest.

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a major blow against the Jacksonville Jaguars when quarterback Kenny Pickett went down with a shoulder injury at the end of the first half.
Pickett went down after being tackled by a defender at the end of the first half. He remained sitting down on the ground holding his right side/shoulder. He was helped up by trainers and taken straight to the locker room.
Without Pickett, the Steelers would turn to Mitch Trubisky as their quarterback. Mason Rudolph is inactive but is eligible to play if Pickett and Trubisky are both unable to play.
Trubisky is 2-3 as a starter for the Steelers.
This is the second major injury for the Steelers as safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was ruled out before the game with a hamstring injury.
Injury report
Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett exited the first half with a rib injury Sunday against the Jaguars and was ruled out for the rest of the game. Mitch Trubisky finished the game for Pittsburgh, who mounted a brief rally but were ultimately on the short end of the final score of 20–10.
Now, according to ESPN, the second-year quarterback’s status is up in the air for next week, with Pittsburgh set to open Week 9 against the Titans on Thursday night. The team will see how Pickett responds on Monday to determine his availability in the future.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin did not provide any update on Pickett after the game, putting his status in jeopardy for Thursday night’s game against the Titans.
