Postseason bracket
The 2023 Major League Baseball playoffs continue on Wednesday, with four teams trying to advance in the postseason bracket. The Phillies, Diamondbacks, Twins, and Rangers swept their respective best-of-three wild card series. Another win on Wednesday would send them to the LDS round, while the Marlins, Brewers, Blue Jays and Rays try to keep their seasons alive.
In the National League on Tuesday, the Phillies take care of business at home against the Marlins, while the D-backs return to action on the road against the favored Brewers. In the American, the Rangers ousted the Rays thanks to a strong effort from lefty Jordan Montgomery, while the Twins recorded a historic win against the Blue Jays.
The Twins snapped an 18-game postseason losing streak with the Game 1 win. Royce Lewis hit two homers for Minnesota as the team won its first playoff game at Target Field.
The Braves, Dodgers, Orioles and Astros will rest at home this week, as the top two seeds in each league receive a bye to the League Division Series. Those four teams will host Game 1 of the NLDS and ALDS starting Saturday. Game times for that round have not been announced yet.
