Jaylen Warren seized his opportunity to become Nazi Harris’ direct backup during August, and continues to work along an uncontested path toward a wider workload if Harris is unavailable during the remainder of Pittsburgh’s matchup.

These factors have sustained Warren’s presence in this column as Benny Snell and Anthony McFarland sidelined free agents to earn RB2 responsibilities for the Steelers. There is no clear threat to the role of Warren, which presents the fantasy managers with a lucrative handcuff option.

Warren’s Snap shares have fluctuated between 20%-51% over the course of the season. They have also carried 23 times, producing 103 rushing yards, and have not yet provided a standalone price. However, Harris has committed 100 times (14.3 per game) accumulating 329 rushing yards (47 per game) entering Week 8, and Warren will collect comparable numbers if he works in the same capacity.

If that situation transpires he would turn Warren into a borderline high-end RB2 situation for fantasy managers. He is somehow available in 93% of all leagues and should be protected on all rosters.

Trade

Kadarius Toney: Week 8| Trade| Fantasy| College

The Kansas City Chiefs acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toni from the New York Giants for two 2023 draft picks on Thursday.

The Giants are a major third-round conditional draft pick (Kansas City got the pick when the Chicago Bears appointed Ryan Poles as their general manager earlier this year) and a sixth-round pick in 2023.

The Giants said the trade is pending Tony is going through a physical.

Tony never looked on solid ground with the new regime led by coach Brian Dabol and general manager Joe Shoen. Other teams were under the impression that Tony’s services could be found at the right price this off-season, even though Schoen insisted he never “buyed out” the talented receiver.

“We thought it was for the best of the team,” Dabol said. “Congratulations Kadarius.”

Taken in the first round by the Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft, Tony is under contract with a fifth-year option for the 2025 season through the 2024 season.

Tony has missed the Giants’ last five matches due to a hamstring injury. He told reporters last week that his return had been delayed because he believed he tried to come back too soon from a right hamstring injury and injured his left hamstring.

Fantasy

Tony appeared in only two games this season, catching two of his three goals without any yardage. He ended his stint with the Giants, playing only 12 of a possible 24 games, catching 41 of his 60 goals for 420 yards and receiving no touchdowns. He shone his roof in 2021 by catching 10 passes for 189 yards in a game against the Cowboys, but he had trouble staying on the field and was inconsistent when he played. The landing spot in Kansas City is ideal in that he ends up with Patrick Mahomes and has one of the best offenses in football, but he has plenty of time and goals to play from the likes of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdés. There will be competition. Scantling, Mecole Hardman, Skye Moore and Justin Watson. Tony is an easy buy in Dynasty formats right now, but it’s hard to predict the production for the rest of his season.
