Pushes cameraman
The Raiders’ star receiver pushed a camera operator on his way off the field and back into the tunnel after a wild 30-29 road loss to the Las Vegas Chiefs on Monday night.
The camera operator, who had a long piece of equipment, was inadvertently walking in front of Adams. He stumbled and fell backwards after a two-handed push from Adams, and was helped back to his feet by a security guard.
Adams paused for a moment and looked at the camera operator before proceeding to walk into the tunnel. The person he pushed did not appear to be seriously injured. It is not clear whether the equipment he was carrying was damaged.
“Sorry for the guy I pushed after the game,” Adams tweeted after the game. “Obviously that was my reaction to the way the game ended and when he ran in front of me and I immediately felt terrible. That’s not me..my sorry man hope you see it.”
The 29-year-old receiver had a huge game, with three receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns in defeat. The end of the game was a disappointment for Adams, however, after his third-down grab, which would have positioned the Raiders for a game-winning field goal, was deemed incomplete after review. Only one play in fourth place later, Adams and teammate Hunter Renfro collided on a throw under Adams’ direction.
Suspended
Adams, 29, has never been suspended during his NFL career. Given the available video evidence, it shouldn’t take much time for raiders to know if their top pass catcher will face suspension. The Raiders have a Week 6 goodbye, and ESPN.com’s Jeff Darlington notes that no timetable exists for Adams’ punishment (Twitter link).
Since then the photographer has filed a police report alleging assault. The man claimed, via TMZ, that he had to be hospitalized after a fall. Adams pushed the photographer after walking in front of the man on the way to the locker room. This came minutes after the Raiders failed to convert fourth and one, a play in which Adams and Hunter Renfro collided. The confrontation ended the Chiefs’ comeback victory.
It sounds like a remarkable penalty that, at least, would get in Adams’ way. But the raiders may have to be prepared for a short suspension as well. Given Las Vegas’ 1-4 start, the absence of any Adams would be a fundamental development in relation to the expectation that the team hopes to get out of this hole and into playoff contention.
The former Packers All-Pro is in the first season of a five-year $140MM contract. The Raiders have already played without Renfro this season and played most of Monday night’s games without Darren Waller, who suffered a hamstring injury. Losing Adams will clearly be a key issue for a team struggling with the climb after a rough start..
Hits camera man
The Raiders-Chief’s “MNF” game was officially thrown to the ground by photographer Davante Adams after a police report was filed against the NFL superstar, claiming he was injured during the incident and had to go to the hospital.
TMZ Sports has learned… the man went to the police at Arrowhead Stadium around 10:30 a.m. — just moments after Adams pushed him after the Raiders’ 30-29 defeat.
Officials told us that the man claimed he was the victim of an attack. He says he told them he had suffered injuries … although they were “considered to be non-life threatening.”

He said the man was later taken to the hospital.
Police say they are investigating – and once the investigation is complete, detectives will “coordinate with the applicable city or state prosecutor to determine any applicable charges.”
For his part, Adams apologized for his role in the incident – once at his locker after the game, and again on Twitter.
