The Good Place

The Good Place is heading towards the final game. Yes, season 4 of NBC’s heaven-sent afterlife comedy will serve as its last-never-reversible batch of episodes. Questions abound: Will this new grand experiment remove the eternal curse? Will Eleanor (Kristen Bell) and a memory-defying Chidi (William Jackson Harper) get back to each other as promised by Eleanor? Will the two new test subjects that we haven’t completed be more difficult to work with than the first two? Will we ever see someone commit 100 percent barbaric insults? And let’s not forget the most important and pressing question: Will Blake Bortles’ word reach Jacksonville’s No. 1 fan from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Los Angeles Rams?

In April 2014, Blake Bortles was the future face of Jaguar. 3 overall in that year’s NFL Draft, would be the man to turn

The former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback announced his retirement Tuesday on the Sorry My Take podcast when asked about potentially signing with a team this season.

“I haven’t touched a football since January,” said Bortles. “I’m officially retired.”

Bortles had not played an official NFL snap since the 2019 season when he was Jared Goff’s backup with the Rams. The 30-year-old has since bounced around several practice squads, including stops in Denver, Los Angeles, Green Bay and New Orleans.

Despite signing a reserve/future contract with New Orleans last January, the Saints parted ways with Bortles after the club added Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton this off-season. Bortles dressed up for the Dolphins vs Saints Week 16 loss last season, but didn’t see action as Ian Book’s emergency backup.
