UCLA coach Mick Cronin said in a statement that Hill’s death was “heartbreaking” and added that the former Bruins forward was “a warm young man with a great smile who left us too soon.”

Hill’s family said in an Instagram post that they recently learned of Hill’s death following his disappearance in Costa Rica, but did not disclose further details.

Hill signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 16, 2017. He made the Ravens’ final roster as an undrafted rookie, playing six games primarily on special teams. He tore his ACL and MCL in week 16 and was placed on injured reserve on December 26, 2017.

On August 31, 2018, Hill was placed on the physically disabled performance list to begin the season while recovering from knee surgery.
