Kirk Daniel Cousins (born August 19, 1988) is an American football quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Michigan State and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft as a backup to fellow rookie Robert Griffin III. Cousins occasionally appeared in games during his first three seasons before replacing Griffin after an injury in 2015, where he remained the team’s starter until 2017. With the Redskins, Cousins set multiple franchise records and was named to the 2017 Pro Bowl.

On having a gay teammate
The backup quarterback for the Washington Redskins, Kirk Cousins, said he would welcome an openly gay teammate and try and take him to Jesus, saying, “No one is perfect.” Here’s what the cousin said to MLive:
“From a football standpoint, if the guy can help us win, help us win. Now, I have a lot of teammates in my locker room who may not have gay lifestyles, but they also have sins. They’re not perfect. That’s why I don’t say they can’t help us win. No one is perfect. To that extent, we’ll welcome them to our locker room and say let’s help us win , and hopefully I can love him like Jesus and hopefully show him what it means to follow Jesus.”
Cousins attended Grand Rapids, Michigan, high school at Michigan State. His remarks were similar to those he had said last year after Jason Collins came out in the NBA.
People like Cousins seem well-meaning and would like to think that he is only full of love, but his belief that homosexuality equates to imperfection and sin is outrageous, as is his desire to convert.
