Did get hurt
Dak Prescott will miss multiple weeks after suffering a hand injury that will require surgery, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Sunday night after his team suffered a 19-3 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ESPN’s Todd Archer later reported Prescott will miss 6-8 weeks. Jones told reporters postgame that Prescott needs surgery on a joint above the thumb on his throwing hand.It was an ugly night for the Cowboys’ offense. Prescott couldn’t get much going against Tampa. But losing a game lingers for just a week. A hand injury to Prescott was a much harsher blow.
Injury update
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was limited for the Thursday practice session due to shoe-related discomfort in his ankle, but was taken off the injury list on Friday and did his work on Saturday as well in preparation for Week 1. But that didn’t keep the Cowboys from holding their collective breath for a moment.X-rays were negative,” Glazer continued. “It seemed like he just popped some scar tissue. They brought him back (Saturday) They ran him fully. He’s fully good to go.”
Surgery
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will undergo thumb surgery and miss “several weeks” after exiting Sunday’s 19-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an injury, team owner Jerry Jones told reporters. ESPN’s Todd Archer, citing multiple sources, reported that Prescott “is expected to miss 6-8 weeks and the injury will likely land him on injured reserve.” Jones told reporters that he was “disappointed” by the news, while head coach Mike McCarthy called it a “significant injury.”
