Hand injury

With Dallas trailing 19-3 in the fourth quarter and showing blood loss in the offense, Prescott was ruled out of the game with an injury and was driven into the locker room shortly after.

The injury occurred after Prescott made contact twice in a drive with Tampa Bay linebacker Shaquille Barrett. He went ashore and was checked by the Cowboys’ training staff after the second instance and before leaving the field.

Prescott said he initially thought he jammed a finger and didn’t believe it was serious. But he went to the locker room for an X-ray, which showed the fracture.

After the game, Prescott bandaged his right hand, saying, “I was told it was cleaner than it could have been.”
