Girlfriend

The list of “it couples” of college football is short and sweet. There’s no doubt that Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his high school sweetheart have secured the hearts of ACC fans. Florida’s Kyle Trusk and his softball-playing girlfriend would take the University of Florida’s prom king and queen crown, if anything like that ever happened.

LSU recently graduated Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrows, who is about to make a bunch of money in the NFL with his girlfriend. All signs point to LSU quarterback Miles Brennan becoming the next man in Baton Rouge for head coach Ed Orgeron’s LSU Tigers. As the 2020 season gets underway without any more coronavirus pandemic issues, Brennan and his girlfriend are on their way to stardom in the SEC.

Details about Miles Brennan’s injury are shared by the father of the LSU quarterback.

Owen Brennan appeared on WWL’s SportsTalk with Christian Garrick, Bobby Hebert and Mike Detillier to discuss his son’s injury. Owen shared that what happened to Myles was a really strange accident.

According to Owen Brennan, Miles had fishing gear in his hands when his flip flop got stuck in the dock, causing him to fall. Brennan could not contain himself. Owen Brennan relayed that Miles went to bed thinking it was just an injury, before doctors confirmed it was a compound fracture of the humerus bone in his left arm.

“That could have happened anywhere, anytime, and it could have been an accident,” Owen Brennan said on WWL. “It was just a complete freak accident. He wasn’t doing something he shouldn’t have done.”

After surgery, Brennan now has a metal plate and screws in his hand. He should be able to resume throwing with his injured hand in two weeks. Brennan begins rehab on Friday.

ESPN

LSU quarterback Miles Brennan has decided to end his college football career after five seasons with the Tigers.

Brennan, 23, who announced his decision on Monday, spent his first three years at LSU as a backup. He was named a starter in 2020, after only three starts that season were cut short by an abdominal injury in which he passed for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Brennan missed all previous seasons due to a non-football arm injury he suffered while fishing at the end of August camp.

“Over the past five years, I have given my entire body, heart and soul to LSU football,” Brennan said in a statement posted on social media. “I am forever grateful for every opportunity given to me, every obstacle I have overcome and every moment I have been a tiger.

“However,” said Brennan, “it is time for me to start a new chapter in my life.”

NIL

According to Action Network’s Darren Rowell, LSU QB Miles Brennan has retired from football, and his decision “could slow down the pace and breadth of zero deals in the college football landscape”. Brennan became the “first major player in the NIL’s brief history” who “paid and never took the field.” He started three games in his collegiate career, and after signing zero deals, none came. Brennan signed a car deal with Baton Rouge-based dealership Hollingsford Richards Ford and added support from Rising Can, Smoothie King, GameCoin and Small Slider during the “zero frenzy of 2021”. As part of the terms of the NIL, Brennan was required to “provide his support to get the money, which he did,” but the rules “are not required of him to actually play.” The NIL rules “disallow performance incentives or benchmarks in any transaction.” Brennan “would still have been able to keep the money if, five days after signing all the deals, he left LSU”.
