Why is ranking so low:

“It’s obviously amazing to be back here and playing on this court again after 16 years,” Murray said in his on-court interview. “A lot has happened in that time: four kids, married and all that stuff. But I’m happy to be back.”

After falling to another big-serving American in John Isner in the Wimbledon second round, the 35-year-old  beat Querrey on his opponent’s home turf to return to winning ways. The sixth-seeded Briton improved to 6-2 on the grass this season, including a run to the Stuttgart semi-finals last month, when he lost to eventual champion Matteo Berrettini.

While Federer has dropped one place, Murray has plummeted from world No 121 to No 172. Murray’s drop is because he has lost the 250 points that he held for winning the European Open in Antwerp in 2019.

According to Playersbio.com, the Scottish professional is worth $165 million (approximately £118 million) as of 2021.

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) also previously ranked Murray as number one in the world rankings.

Over the past several years, Andy has earned between $10 and $15 million per year on and off the court. He typically averages around $5 million per year in on-court earnings. One of his biggest weaknesses though is also on the tactical side! Murray tends to play a bit too defensive at times.
